After getting a place at the Jersey Shore, I became aware that there are three towns that all touch borders, and seem to be a nexus of 55Plus communities. I picked one such community, and began to photograph the residents at their summer parties celebrating the national holidays. I couldn’t help being inspired by their infectious enthusiasm for life, as they are late in theirs. I’ve become quite fond of them, and continue to enjoy making these informal portraits at their social events while simultaneously being inspired by their zest.
