The simplest instructions often reveal the most complex truths. In this ongoing project, the only direction given is "Mom (or Dad), please sit on the chair." What follows is a fascinating revelation of family dynamics, personalities, and relationships. Without prescribed poses or orchestrated interactions, each portrait session unfolds naturally. A toddler might climb into their father's lap, a teenager might lean casually against their mother's shoulder, or young siblings might compete for the closest spot to their parent. Every arrangement becomes a window into their unique family story. These portraits capture more than just faces - they document the subtle language of family bonds. The way a father's hand automatically steadies his child, how a mother's smile changes when looking at her teenager, the unconscious mirroring of expressions between parent and child. In the absence of direction, truth emerges. Each session becomes a study in human connection, revealing relationships that words alone cannot describe. The resulting photographs are both deeply personal family portraits and universal statements about the bonds between parents and children.
